Somalia will lift a ban on local flights which was imposed in March to slow down the spread of the coronavirus pandemic on 5 May.
The issue was discussed at a meeting by the council of ministers chaired by the prime minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre, today. By the end of the meeting, the council of ministers approved the lifting of the ban.
The minister also agreed it was vital that ministry of health directives are followed when the ban is lifted.
The decision comes after the spread of the disease slowed down in recent weeks, especially in Benadir Region which was hit the hardest.
