Somalia: Fighting between SNA and Militants reported near Baidoa town

Fighting between Somali National Army (SNA) and the Somali militant group Al-Shabab, a terror group affiliated to Alqaeda erupted at Daynunay area near the town of Baidoa, where security conference is underway.

There are no official casualties reported, though witnesses said that several wounded soldiers were taken to Baidoa hospital for treatment.

The fighting comes amid the town of is hosting  security conference which was attended by African Union Mission to Somalia AMISOM.

The security conference aims to strengthen security in Baidoa as it hosts Independence week celebrations on June 26th and July 1st and the Parliamentary elections and its also aimed at delivering effective operations and promoting long-term stability.
