Somalia confirms second Coronavirus case

Somalia has confirmed the second case of Covid-19 virus in the country.

Somali Health Minister Fowsiyo Abikar said in a press conference in the capital, Mogadishu, today that the Somali national who tested positive for the Coronavirus was one of those people who had been quarantined after he arrived recently from abroad.

Minister Fowsiyo said that the patient was in a stable condition.

The minister called on the public to avoid shaking hands, wash hands regularly and follow directives from the health authorities.

Meanwhile, neighbouring Kenya has recorded its first death of the Covid-19 virus.

A 66-year old man, who was also suffering from diabetes, died of Coronavirus at the Agha Khan University Hospital.

He arrived in Kenya from South Africa via Swaziland.

Kenya has so far confirmed 31 cases of the Coronavirus.
