A high level delegation, including Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre and South West State President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagaren, is today expected to arrive in the southern Somali port city of Marka, Lower Shabelle Region.
Security has been tightened in the city ahead of the arrival of the leaders and delegation, with a VIP security unit deployed to the city yesterday to ensure their safety.
Other officials from the federal government will also be accompanying the prime minister in his visit. He is expected to discuss wide-ranging issues with local officials and various sections of the community.
This is part of the prime minister’s tour of South West state territories, aimed at assessing the security situation and development in the region.
