Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is expected to travel to the central town of Dusamareb, the capital of Galmudug regional state, tomorrow, where the Galmudug reconciliation conference is still underway.
According to reports, President Farmajo is set to attend the conclusion of the Galmudug reconciliation conference, which lasted a week in Dusamareb, and was attended by more than 500 delegates from the various Galmudug clans.
Reports indicate that the president will meet with the conference delegates to hear their concerns, and to continue with efforts to build a new Galmudug.
Preparations to welcome President Farmajo tomorrow have been observed in Dusamareb, while a VIP security unit which will beef up security in the town are expected to arrive today ahead of the president’s visit.
The Somali Federal Government has been guiding the initiative and the process of building an inclusive Galmudug in the past two months.
The government said that these efforts, led by Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre, are expected to bear fruits by the end of the ongoing conference.
