Somali parliament approves new cabinet

The Lower House of the Somali Parliament has approved Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble’s council of ministers.

All 188 members present for the session, which was shared by Speaker Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman, voted to approve the new cabinet, with no one voting against or abstaining.

The new cabinet was announced on 19 October, a month after the parliament approved Roble as the country’s prime minister.

The new government has to lead the country through the 2020/21 parliament and presidential elections and manage the political transition.
