Somali government sends medical shipment to Galmudug state

A shipment of medical equipment sent by the Somali Federal Government has been delivered to Galmudug regional State today.

A plane carrying the equipment landed at the airport in the Galmudug regional headquarters, Dusamareb, where it was received by the Puntland.

The equipment is expected to be taken to the towns of Abud Waq and Balanbale in Galgadud Region, central Somalia.

It is part of recent efforts by the federal government to distribute medicine, protective gear and testing kits to the country’s federal member states to fight coronavirus.

Somalia continues to register more cases of the coronavirus pandemic. In the past 24 hours, the country registered 57 cases of the disease, according to the ministry of health.

Thirty of those who tested positive were men while 27 were men. Most of the new cases were found in Banadir. There are now 2146 cases in the country.
