Somali army clashes with al-Shabab 29 Nov

Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers have clashed with Al-Shabaab fighters after the militants raided pastoralists communities in Gedo region, southern Somalia.

According to reporters, the military sent troops to chase away Al-Shabaab fighters who rustled livestock from locals in a village near Bardere town.

The fighting took place on Friday [29 November], leading to an unknown number of casualties on both sides.

The local administration from Bardere has not commented on the fighting.

Al-Shabaab fighters have recently stepped up efforts to extortion activities areas under its control.
