Six killed after landmine blast hits rickshaw in southwest Somalia

Six people were killed and two others wounded after the rickshaw they were in ran over a landmine near the southwestern Somali town of Hudur, Bakol region.

Reports indicate that the blast hit the rickshaw some 25 kilometres north of Hudur town.

The deceased were buried in Banjinay village where they came from, 15 kilometres from Hudur.

Roads in the region are beset with landmines blamed on the Al-Qaeda-linked militant group, Al-Shabaab.
