PM Kheyre expected back in Kismayu to continue talks with Jubbaland leader

KISMAYU—Somalia prime minister, Hassan Ali Khayre is expected back in Kismayu today after he cut short his visit to Jubbaland to attend the burial of the last Constitutional minister, Abdi Hosh on Sunday in Mogadishu .

The premier will continue talks with Jubbaland leaders led by President Ahmed Madobe.

Madobe and Villa Somalia were recently at loggerheads over alleged plan to unseat him in the next elections with what he terms as “stooge of the presidency.”

Ali Kheyre accompanied by his security detail and officials from his office arrived in Kismayu two days ago.

Jubbaland forces barricaded the road from the airport leading to the hotel he will stay.

Prime Minister Kheyre is expected to address the public as security is beefed up.
