Four Somali soldiers killed in blast as army kills dozens of militants

Four Somali soldiers were killed and many others wounded after their vehicle hit a landmine on their way to the capital, Mogadishu, from the central region of Hiiraan.

Reports indicate that the Al-Qqaeda-linked militants Al-Shabaab may have planted the landmines to target the troops from the Somali National Aarmy’s 27th Division.

The militants have been targeting government soldiers with landmines and ambush attacks as they try to fend off sustained military operations by the SNA in several parts of the country.

Meanwhile, a senior commander of SNA’s 27th Division has told media sources that his troops killed dozens of Al-Shabaab fighters after heavy clashes near the central town of Bulaburte, Hiiraan region.
