Four people, including Turkish engineer, killed in blast outside Somali capital

A suicide bomber blew himself up at a road construction site just outside the Somali capital, Mogadishu, killing four people and wounding five others.

According to Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the suicide bomb attack targeted Turkish road construction engineers just outside the Mogadishu this morning.

The ministry’s statement said one Turkish citizen died and four others were wounded in the explosion.

Reports also indicate that three Somali Special Forces guarding the Turkish road engineers were killed while another was wounded in the attack.

The Turkish engineers are building the Mogadishu-Afgoye road and have been targeted in attacks by the Aal-Qaeda-linked militant group, Al-Shabaab, several times in the past.
