One person was reportedly killed and two soldiers were wounded after a grenade attack targeted a convoy of Puntland security forces in the northern part of Galkayo town, central Somalia.
Reports indicate that the soldiers, who were conducting a security operation in the area, came under a grenade attack, after which they opened heavy fire towards where the grenade was thrown from.
One civilian was killed and two soldiers wounded in the attack, according to the reports.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the Al-Qaeda-linked militant group, Al-Shabaab, has in the past targeted Puntland security forces in some parts of the semi-autonomous region of Puntland.
