Somali government appoints reconciliation body for Galmudug

The interior minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Abdi Sabriye, last night appointed a committee for the upcoming reconciliation conference of Galmudug state.

The committee consists of 12 members from all the various clans living in the Galmudug state.

In a statement, the minister said that once the committee members meet, they will elect a chairperson, two deputy chairpersons and three secretaries.

The committee for the reconciliation conference would be responsible for the communications between clans, assembling of delegates representing the various clans in the conference and finding possible long term solutions for the social and political differences among the clans living in Galmudug region.

The committee will work with a rapporteur from the Interior Ministry of the Federal Government.
